About our boats

Swift Racing Boats are manufactured in a modern, fully integrated factory, using proven materials and production processes.  All boats are heat-cured under vacuum using epoxy resins for maximum structural integrity and stiffness.   Even our lowest cost boats (Club A and Club B) use honeycomb cores on the canvas decks and saxboards, and PVC for the seat deck and keel in order to provide additional stiffness and minimize the overall weight.

The 4 grades

We use different materials to offer 4 “grades” of boats. Each grade is finished to the same high standard, but has a different price point, and may be more suitable for certain situations and environments.

All Swift boats share these features;

  • “Sandwich” construction (ie. A core material such as honeycomb, coremat, or PVC foam is sandwiched between 2 “skins”).
  • Use epoxy resin, cured at high temperature.
  • Bonded under vacuum.
  • Enclosed seat decks for maximum buoyancy (exceed FISA’s requirement).

Elite Plus

Overview Saxboards and keel.
Hull Honeycomb core with outer skin of kevlar cloth, inner skin of mostly carbon cloth, and carbon reinforcing.
Saxboards and canvas decks Honeycomb core with carbon and kevlar skins, and carbon reinforc ing.
Seat deck High density closed cell PVC foam core with carbon and kevlar skins.

Full Carbon Upgrade (Elite Carbon)

For an additional cost, it is possible to upgrade Elite Plus boats to “Elite Carbon”, which means that all skins will be 100% carbon from end to end. This results in even greater stiffness, especially for longer boats, such as 4s and 8s.

Club A

Overview Mainly for training purposes, although with only a small weight disadvantage over honeycomb boats, can still be highly competitive.
Hull Lantor Coremat with kevlar skins, and carbon reinforcing.
Saxboards and canvas decks Honeycomb core with carbon and kevlar skins, and carbon reinforcing
Seat deck High density closed cell PVC foam core with kevlar skins

Club B

Overview Specifically built for training purposes. Heavier than Club A, but relatively easy to repair
Hull Lantor Coremat with fibre glass skins, and carbon reinforcing
Saxboards and canvas decks Honeycomb core with fibre glass skins, and carbon reinforcing
Seat deck High density closed cell PVC foam core with fibre glass skins
